The 2012 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews are In!

September 8th, 2011

A recent review of the 2012 Honda Civic by a national independent consumer organization concluded with a low score.  But what do real consumers have to say about this vehicle?  A panel of industry “experts” had their opinions, but we invited over 100 real compact sedan owners to compare the 2012 Honda Civic with the 2012 Ford Focus, 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, and 9 other competitors to see what they thought.  Their ratings are the entire basis of our 2012 Honda Civic consumer reviews.

The Honda Civic is tied with the Kia Forte as the second highest rated compact sedans tested in our study.   Among Civic’s strengths are its exterior and interior appearance, interior controls, and front seat comfort and roominess.  We had participants review every square inch of the interior and exterior of the Civic, so they noticed everything,  like the well positioned controls and climate vents.

Of course, with any vehicle, there were several weaknesses to note including rear seat entry and exit, the lack of rear seat cup holders, rear seat storage, and warranty coverage. Despite having several average ratings along with being the highest price vehicle in the study, Honda Civic rated above average in value for the money.  There were so many great features about the car that our reviewers thought it was worth the price.

Our 2012 Honda Civic consumer reviews contain lots more details such as the back seat, which folds down as one piece instead of the more common 60/40 split.  To get all of the insights our consumers had, click here.
